Pailolo Channel crossing SUP Race 27mi

Aloha,

Back on home base Maui and right away into the program with a 27 mile SUP race from Honolua bay on the west side of Maui, 27 miles across the channel to Kaunakakai on the island of Moloka'i. The race was really hard and long, especially after not training much and just traveling the last month!
I finished the race in 5 hours and 49 minutes and got second in the Junior 19 and under division, and 25 overall out of about 80.

Really fun race! Mahalos to Handsom Buggas Productions!

The start of the race took place at Honolua bay, my home break! The morning up the race I picked up Ekolu Kalama and took him to Honolua to the start where we signed in and had a pule (prayer) with everyone to keep all the competitors safe!

The finish of the race was at Kaunakakai, Moloka'i.

If you had foregone the wild and crazy women and done the race in an hour less, would you? Of course not, your time was fine. Welcome home.
