Pistil River Wave Bash is Back in Action after 11 years of Absence
Jay Wattermayer and I took the 7 hour drive to Pistol River and arrived to the camp grounds at 11:30 PM, just enough time to get some sleep for the event the day after. When we showed up to Pistol river in the morning, I was surprised and excited to see the great turn out of kids and girls competing! There were also a great turn out for some of the United States best wave and freestyle sailors. The Maui team consisted of Skyler Haywood, Jake Golm, Connor Baxter, Bernt Rodiger, Kai Katchadourian, Keith Taboul, Jesse Brown, Francisco Goya, Diego Femenias, Matt and Kevin Prichard, Russ Farout and I and we came to show up and blow up the competition!

Sam Bitner and everyone else who helped out really did a great job organizing the event! Everyone who was involved was pleased and we also scored some great waves and wind! The first day of competing was really windy and the waves were head high, so we go to get a lot of heats done!

Zane; You are the modern day equivalent of Duke kahanamoku in that you continue to be a top emissary for the ocean and our sports. Rock on. Cheers to Matty , Shelby Mom, Dad and Bella too.
