Moulay bouzerktoun, Morocco

Aloha,

All of us have been having a great time in Moulay, the area where the competition is being held. We have had great conditions the whole trip for surfing, windsurfing, and SUP. The waves are about head high and the wind has been howling, except for yesterday and today. Two days ago we held the Biggest air competition and we were all going big! The wind was solid 35 knots and all of us were rigging up our smallest sails. I had to borrow a 3.4 and 3.7 North Sails ICE from Club Mistral because my smallest sail i brought with me is a 4.0. Boujmaa won the biggest air for the international riders with a huge double front flip and won the purse of 500 euros, and Fettah Lamara won the biggest air with a huge Back Loop!

I have learned so much this trip from all of my friends from around the world and also learned a lot about judging, since the competitors judges the other teams. This way of competing is great, because everything is fair and everyone is happy and having a good time, while we all push each other to the limit.

We moved into another hotel in Essaouira called the 5 star Sofitel Hotel and it is beautiful! We all feel like kings!

We got almost another round done today but we had to cancel the last heat because lack of wind. The wave sailing today was the best out of all the days! We had great waves over logo high and enough wind to get onto the waves, but not much.

This area in Essaouira is called the Madina, it is enclosed by 40 foot high walls for protection from outsiders back in the day. There are many beautiful architectures such as huge arks and old castle looking buildings. On the top of the walls there are huge cannons 15 feet from each other around the whole town.

 Dinner..

The Madina in todays world is filled with great restaurants, shops and apartments.

Great job Zane; sailing, representing the sport and Maui, being enthusiastic.
Love seeing you and kai katchadourian (Mr Heavy Metal) and if competitors judged... Levi Siver would win at ho'okipa (an honor long overdue).

    Mahalo Nui Loa...
