Tuesday – Day 1 of competition

Aloha

Today we woke up and head to the beach to find that the waves were chest high and fun which led us to the decision to start the competition. We had 30 minute heats and unlimited wave count which gave us plenty of time to have a fun session! Kai Katchadorian, Tatiana Howard, Franz Orsi and I were in the first heat, which started at 3:00 in the afternoon. We all had a great time in the heat with plenty of playful waves. The results were as follows: 1st Zane Schweitzer (White J.) 2nd KaiKatchadorian (Pink J.) 3rd Tatiana Howard  (pink) 4th Franz Orsi (yellow)

The second heat started directly after with FranciscoPorcella (Yellow), Gabriele Serra (black), Anita (yellow) and (Pink). I was one of the judges along with Kai, and Tatiana and we decided that 1stwent to Francisco, 2nd to Gabriele, 3rd to (Pink) and 4thAnita.

To get to the sand dunes where we Sand boarded and took some pictures at we had to get permission from these guys; they are fishermen who own the land where the biggest sand dunes are.

We walked about a mile or two and we making every minute of it fun, as you can see I am getting pelted with dried up sea weed balls.

Wednesday the 5th we finished the Surf division. The waves were a little smaller so we moved down the beach a bit where the waves were waist high. Coming through to the finals in 1st were Francisco Porcella and I, and in 2nd Tatiana Howard and Kai Katchadorian. In the finals Francisco finished 1st, I 2nd, Kai 3rd, and Tatiana 4th.

Thursday the 6th we were hoping for some wind and surf for the windsurf event, but we ended up doing a downwind competition on the SUP boards. The final results for this was I in 1st, Francisco in 2nd, Kai in 3rd, and Franz in 4th.
